“Shule, shule, shule-a-roo, Shule-a-rak-shak, shule-a-ba-ba-coo.”
Here’s some randomnnosity for you:
1. There is nothing quite like lightening and thunder to make you feel small:
Yup. And I heard it snowed in Washington today? WHAT? Um… that never happens.
2. Been busy today for once. (the following picture is proof… it’s the dock to my mac when I suddenly realized I had way too many programs opened. Woops. Click on it to make it bigger)

3. Break has been very interesting. Yesterday was the funniest waste of time ever ever. Me, Sarah, and Justine crashed in our living room for about 8 hours watching movies and eating popcorn.

you may call me weird now. I think I watched more movies yesterday than I have all semester combined.
4. Being the ultimate to-do list person, I think I went crazy. My window is now my to-do list:
That way I can’t focus on much else besides what i have to do.
5. Oh yeah… did I also mention I rearranged my desk? Yeah. Now I have my back to all activity in the room, making me even more of a loner…er… I mean productive student. So far it has made me much more productive:
6. Oh and even more beyond that: The reason I moved my desk in the first place is so I can fit in my ever so wonderful CHRISTMAS TREE!!!:
Yeah. I’ve been hyped about this for a while now.
7. COW IS STILL ALIVE!
I don’t know how many of you read my blog way back in the summer when I got a fish and named it cow. Well, my brother in law and sister are still taking care of him, and he’s still a happy fish.
8. Haha! This is AWFUL! Look what site I stumbled across today:
Oh dear. I think I’ve seen it all. How disgusting.
9. Diane misses home
I have a really strong urge to go skiing.
And to play with my nephews.
And be crazy with my sisters and brothers.
And give my parents big hugs.
10. HA! My brother jumped on the blog bandwagon! And his is actually pretty entertaining.
Now the only people in my family that doesn’t have a blog is mom and dad. Hmmm…
and I also think that i need to go back to kindergarten. I have problems mixing up “Is” and “are”. Darn it.
11. Only two weeks till dead week… I will make it.
People are slowly coming back on campus from thanksgiving break, so my week of solitude is over. I enjoyed this break a lot… it was perfect.
I hope you all have a good week!

OH YEAH! ***MAJOR kudos to anyone who can name the song the title of this post came from! I ran into this song randomnly while playing with my music collection…. and it brings memories of my childhood.
I bet anything that either my mom, dad or sister sarah would get it first easily.
Ok… goodnight for reals now.
2 comments“What can I do but thank you? Every day make everything I do a hallelujah, hallelujah!”
God is AMAZING!
For this special edition thanksgiving post, I’ve been gathering the little things in life that I am SOOOO INCREDIBLY THANKFUL for.
Yes, I’ve been writing this post for a month. So it’s long… but it’s a good one.
Each of these things is something that I specifically have been thankful for in only THE PAST THREE WEEKS.
Each one of these things I often take for granted. With some reflection I see how very amazing God is…. no matter how seemingly small the gift is.
Some are silly. Some are deep. Some are merely a feeling. I need constant reminder that EVERYTHING is proof of God’s goodness.
I added pictures because I’m a very visual person. Sorry if it makes this a very slow loading post. Woops.
By the way… I didn’t take all of these pictures - most of them are off of Google… so don’t sue me. Heck, that’s what I’ll even start the list with:
***how blasting music makes me feel better after a crappy day***
having a relationship with a patient god
***times when i have the apartment to myself***
pumpkin flavored foods ![]()
***colors - esp. green and red***
the red blankie my mom gave me ![]()

***the ability to remember… and to forget***

the word gagillion. even though it’s not a word.
the way my mom makes coffee… super strong ![]()
***art history class… yes. i am thankful for this class twice. probably because of:***
***when people feel like they can tell me anything… and people who i can tell anything to***
random calls from my wji friends

***how my parents can love me unconditionally and don’t give up on me… even though i am probably one of the most difficult children they’ve had to raise***

***friends that let me whine and complain… even though they know that i deserve what i am going through***
when art is ugly for a good reason ![]()
***knowing that half my audience probably fell asleep five minutes ago…***
So. I just realized that it’s been thanksgivng for 1 hour and 44 minutes, and I can go on forever about what I am thankful for. But I’m gonna just stop there.
What are you thankful for? Do share.
Today I plan to go to Dave’s room and have steak. Not exactly turkey… but I prefer steak anyways. I made pumpkin pie. Nummy.
Having the apartment to myself is kind of scary. Our stove makes noises, and I’ve been very afraid of being alone in a room with a TV since seeing “The Ring” - - reason #287 why I gave up scary movies… forever. I’m considering going to live on Dave’s couch for the weekend… (i know… i’m a wuss).
WOAH! Holy cow… I just got the crap scared out of me! My computer screensaver came on, and when I moved my mouse, my computer had a huge version of that Francis Bacon painting (the last picture) on the screen. Ah! And probably nobody understood that last sentence! HA!
Okey doke. I’m off to bed. I’m thankful for all of you guys out there.

Hooray for my 8 o’clock class being cancelled!
So I stayed up late doing something for photography:
Unfortunately there are two technical problems: if these were really negatives, then the black and white would be switched around, and the text on the plate would be backwards. Woops.
Grape nuts taste 100% better when you mix them with some granola.

5 commentsNOTE TO SELF:
Never again will I use pencil to write notes.
Disaster will occur:
If I flunk the section on my art history test about post-WWII art… I blame the pencil.
OH - I can die happy now! I think I’ve seen it all!
Yes… my marketing book used WIKIPEDIA as a reference.
I’m not even allowed to use wikipedia for a reference in a college paper… but a college text book is allowed to? I’m miffed.
Boo to you.
Yay for collaborative artwork. For the one and only explodingdog.com (yes, the obsession continues.)
This is currently my desktop: (who can honestly be grumpy when this is thier computer’s desktop? Smokies.)
Look how happy he is! And he’s squishing bugs!
I made this dude late last night (meaning 11:30pm… I’m getting old)
I dunno if you recognize this dude… but he also appeared on the east campus block party posters. I think he needs a name. I think his name will be Dude.
To see the full artwork, go HERE.
And to see a further explanation of why I did this, go HERE.
(it’s still in the process of being finished. I’m block #18)
Welp… on to Advertising class then a bunch of homework. I couldn’t be more thrilled. (umm yeah. that’s a lie)
(How come business classes are always so dull? Sarah, how did you ever manage a business major without dying of utter, complete and dire boredom?)
Love ya all

Muse. Woah. I keep falling in love with them over and over again. I know this is starting to sound repetative but… dang. This band is…
1. So Powerful
2. So Talented
3. So… Literate?
They use a whole ton of words I have to look up in the dictionary…
and then have songs about chaos theory, angst… and PLATO? This isn’t your normal rock band. MUSE knows what they are doing. Definately not American (they are British)
AHH! I love it!
I dislike concerts, (well, from one experience)… but this is one band I want to see in concert someday. SO badly. I’m very jealous of my friends who saw them last week in Seattle. Grr.
So anyways. I thought Tri-State break was going to be boring.
I was wrong. It seems as though more things happen on campus during break than during the reuglar school time.
Don’t get me wrong - I’ve definately have been working. Infact, I made a huge to-do list so that I can’t forget everything I have to do:
And I pretty much have over half of those done already. (ya!) (this to-do list is really huge. That line on the left next to “Shoot roll of film” is a crayon)
Well, I got to witness Nathan Smith throw a steaming cup of coffee onto Elbert…
And Dave gave me some good music this morning… (woopie!)
I got the hockey site looking a bit better (needs more work tomorrow though, maybe even put some information on the page for once…haha)…
And then I found my long lost window/tile crayons… and started drawing on our window. I don’t have pictures of everything I did, but I quite the graffiti artist now…:
And there is even one part of the window that says “HELP! I have no life!”
I know. That’s just what happens when an art major gets bored.
Anyways… last night was a BLAST. HOLY MACKERAL. It was Carmela’s 21st birthday, and I was the only underage person at the party… so became designated driver by default.
Honestly - imagine watching a 21st birthday party at Doc’s bar with these following people:
Dave Schierbeek, Carmela Vander Ploeg, Jesse Walhof, Matt Behrens, Paul Krygsman, David Staat, Cal Henderson, Sara Wallenburg.
Snikes it was a good time. I played Pool against a few slightly intoxicated people, and they still did WAY better than me. How embarassing. And then Walhof kept on making the Juke box play Phil Collins… oh gracious.
Anyways, we got back late, and I smelled… like a bar. My clothes don’t even respond to Febreze anymore.
Ick.
Ok… I was going to talk about Modern Art for my brother in law… but I don’t even know where to start. Come back a later date. (Andrew - I really wish you were in my art history class… it’s pretty much AMAZING)
On the final note… in the past 24 hours, I have found the two most amazing music videos I have ever seen.
First one Dave showed me - greatttttt animation to the Radiohead song “Creep”
And when Rachel and I were in Germany - THIS SONG - was very popular at the time. It’s in German - but that doesn’t matter. This video is BRILLIANT. I repeat, BRILLIANT. I watched six times already trying to figure out how they managed it.
Oh one more thing just to keep me happy - Explodingdog.com has been putting out some great hand drawings recently. Here is the one that resides on my desktop:
and since I can’t resist, here is another one:
Ok I’m gonna attempt some more work before I head to bed. Have a good night y’all!
