Diane’s World

…many enter, few come out the same

“Tongue tied to a hating factory”

This band (Brand New) has been a top band of mine since Junior year in high school. The song I chose is called “Jesus Christ” - Click out the lyrics here.(WHICH BY THE WAY - I don’t currently own that CD (it’s called “The Devil and God are Raging Inside of Me”), so whatever sibling/sibling-in-law of mine has my name for our Christmas secret Santa gift thing…. add it to the already long CD wish list I gave you ;) )Ok enough of the music stuff.

2) This week went by very fast.

I’ll have art to show next week - I don’t have anything interesting finished lately. I know, you all are upset. Well get over it.

Let’s just say, I HATE painting eyes right now.

Woah I almost forgot about PANDEMONIUM!

Pandemonium is something the Senior art Majors do every year. We take large sheets of paper and do some pastel drawings in public! Each senior made a different drawing (with assistance of a drawing I student) as we blasted a CD made by our class (everybody got to choose a song. Of course I chose “Nur Ein Wort” by Wir Sind Helden. I didn’t even have to tell people it was my song because I’m the only idiot who would chose a German indie song. ha.) .

The drawings turned out exceptionally well. Here they are!:

Guess which one’s mine?

This one! And here’s me next to it so show you how big it is:

And here are all of them together (the other half is on the other side)

3) I can’t believe my favorite little monkey - my dear little nephew, Patrick - is already THREE YEARS OLD!

Way to go Patrick! I love him immensely and I am upset that I am not there to celebrate his birthday with him! Go to my Sister’s Family’s site to see the pictures of the event I had to miss out on. :(

However, my dear mother is coming to visit me in a week! Mom, I look forward to having you in Iowa for once!

4) Guess what I decided to do the moment my mom leaves me?

I am going to attempt to be VEGETARIAN for a month!

HA!

Actually, no I didn’t all the sudden decide to go PETA. I am not even an animal rights activist. And yes, I actually do enjoy meat. I just want to learn how to live a healthier more environmentally friendly lifestyle. I probably won’t stay vegetarian for long after the month, but I hope that I will learn to make simple choices that don’t put a strain on our earth’s resources.

And, yes I have thought about my iron deficiency. I am just hoping that iron supplements and iron-rich vegetables will be enough to keep myself and alive and active.

5) Laura and I went shoe shopping this weekend. We both needed basically the same kind of shoe. I do believe we went to over 10 stores…

I HAD NO CLUE how hard it is just to find a simple pair of brown semi-casual shoes that don’t cost waaaaaaay too much!

However, after a few hours we both FINALLY CAME UP WITH SOMETHING.

(Mom, remember that pair of shoes you threw away this summer because they were getting too old/smelly? HA! They are back!!!)

DUN DUN DUN!

Yeah. That was basically the highlight of our weekend. Oh and watching Saw with Laura and Jerry. (I am a WIMP when it comes to scary movies - I do believe I had a blanket over my head for over 1/4th of the movie… and this is the second time I’ve seen it.)

OH and we went to the Lacrosse game to see Jerry dance. (muwahah!) But… since I had to babysit the art gallery, we were too late. And now I’m sad that I didn’t get to see Jerry dance. But here is Laura and I at the Lacrosse game:

Here’s Laura dead after the Lacrosse game (I randomly found her lying on the ground of our room):

Jeremiah came to our room later to try and be artistic:

and then tried to be emo. Oh Jerry.

Ok I get it. I can just imagine half of you saying “Shut up, Diane. We’ve had enough of you for a week.”

So therefore, I am shutting up. Have a wonderful week everybody!

    1) I like the grammar corrections you made. Thank you.

    2) I also like the “Dead Laura” picture. I had no idea you were even taking one, gosh. Hey, you should post that at my funeral. Since you’ll obviously be going to that. I bet it’s exactly what I will look like in my casket. Except hopefully a little older and more wrinkly.

    3) The picture of us on the grass is great…except that you cut half of me out of it. Oh well, such is life. You just want all the attention for yourself.

    4) I like your art. It makes me happy.

    5) I HATE SHOE SHOPPING!!! But having you along made it halfway bearable.
