“I’ve never known what’s good for me”
Song of the week = “This Modern Love” by Bloc Party. I believe I’ve already used this song… but I feel like posting it again so I’m going to.Anyways, I promised I’d post earlier than this. I lied. Get used to it - I do that a lot these days.”Stressed out” would be a good few words for this week… but then again, I’ve been having quite the social life. I guess I can’t complain to horribly.
On Friday, Laura and I went on a “date” to Sioux Falls. It was tons of fun.
If I appear to be gross and greasy… and pink, you’re right. I don’t shower for outings anymore. Haha.
And here’s Laura, who looks exponentially better than me:
and I found out where Laura does all her shopping…
On Saturday I walked with Laura to Walmart, then I went to a Bonfire with Laura. Sorry, no pictures.
Monday night, Jerry and I got to hang out! Yaaaaaaay. Who doesn’t love a little Jerry time in their life?
See, Jerry’s excited about it!
So was I!
I said I’d post pictures of my room… I lied about that as well.
I do have one picture - here is Jason sleeping on a sofa in Amanda and my bedroom. The red bed is mine - and you can see my little hiding spot where my bookshelf is near the head of my bed. I go there when I need to be alone.
Okey dokey.
Well I guess I’ll hold true to one promise: here is a few pieces of wonderful mediocre art I’ve been working on… and as Professor Van Wyk says, “the last thing this world needs is more mediocre art”. Darn it:

I miss Professor Van Geest very dearly.
I miss having a professor that knows and cares about how my passions, my struggles, my personality, and my life story are all crucial to understanding why I make my artwork like I do.
On the other hand - being a Gen300 TA, I get to see a little bit about what it’s like to be a professor - I have to attend class planning meetings every week. I can see myself as a Professor. I want to pass along the passion that was given to me. I want it badly.
OH YEAH! I’m proud to announce that the “Dordt Defenders for Life” website is up and kicking! CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT!!!
Well I have a few more fun things to post, but I’m gonna keep them for another day. Let’s just say that you may feel free to have a good giggle with my next post.
When I will post, I have no idea. I am a busy woman. I keep all my homework/events on a computer calendar. This is what it currently looks like. Red = School, Blue=Fun. It’s a little uneven unfortunately:

OH! Look at the last week! Laura and I are going to CHICAGO for tri-state AKA my birthplace! I have a weekend to convince Laura that she NEEDS TO go on the Chicago next semester, and that Chicago isn’t THAT scary of a city. So if you know Laura, tell her to go. And Laura, if you are reading this, GO ON CHICAGO SEMESTER, WOMAN!
Also, Thanks Dave and Trina for your concern
I love you guys very much and I think about you a lot. And I will do the thing you tagged me for when I have time. I feel bad when I don’t write to you guys as much as you do to me, but I love hearing from you, and I’m always thinking about what I should write back to you but never get around to doing it. Woops.
…That goes to everybody else out there that may think I’m ignoring them… no I’m not. I’m just a little scattered these days.
Ok I do believe it’s bedtime.
I’ll post within the week. And I’ll try not to lie about it this time.
Love, Deedles

Hey Diane, thanks for updating your blog. You sure have a busy life at Dordt! Don’t overdo! Love, MOM
Oh, those drawings are wonderful. Seriously.
It’s nice having people in your life in general who know you enough to see you in the things you create. Those people are usually pretty few and far between, but they sure do make creating things more rewarding.
You don’t have to feel bad for not writing - our lives are different and we have different schedules, and that’s ok. We love hearing from you when you have time.
Hope you are able to have some down time in the midst of everything and that it won’t be cause for burnout.
Cheers!
