“Each broken heart will eventually mend…”

Song/Video of the week: “Someday you will be loved” by Death Cab for Cutie

(Watch this video - it is my favorite…. and it’s probably one of the things that started my obsession with hearts. That poor poor heart goes through so much!)

Anyways, it’s been over a week. Can you blame me?

1) Started my job at Target. In my fight to not work on Sundays, I declared that I’d work whenever they wanted, just not on Sunday.

They punished me for sure. I work closing! AHH! That means I get off of work anytime between 11pm and 1am. Sigh.

Actually closing isn’t that bad. They usually give us Popsicles if it was a long day, and we sit there for 20 minutes doing nothing more but making fun of Wal-mart and one of the guys who works in electronics.

Well, Target has declared themselves the “Best Company EVER!” (true story). And Target has neater stuff. And the people who work there are nicer.

Shoot! I’m turning into a true Target-ian… getting pretty good at ripping on Wal-mart.

Well, unfortunately I’m still in training mode… meaning I still do something stupid/embarrassing every day. But everyone does have fun laughing at me.

2) Sarah and Andrew decided to leave for Hawaii. So, they left the kiddos with Rachel and I… hoping that we might be able to keep them alive for 10 days. With Rachel working days and me working nights, we’ve been able to do a great job tag-teaming this whole affair.

Sammy is the sweetest little boy in the whole wide word, and I’m tempted to steal him and take him back to college with me. The only time he really gets upset is when he is ignored for too long. Besides that, he is all smiles and giggles.

Patrick, on the other hand, is a chore. The worst part is that he tries to talk and communicate, and we never understand what he wants. So we end up both getting very frustrated. I just hope he learns how to talk better… and soon.

but he can be a sweetheart… once you start to understand what all his gobble-de-gook means. And I have even discovered a few ways into tricking him to doing what I want (muwahaha!)

I LOVE THESE LITTLE MEN!:

3) If you haven’t noticed in earlier pictures, I (finally) got glasses. Now I don’t have to wear contacts every day. (yay!)

I like them.

You should too.

Here, I’ll even model them for you (notice I’m still wearing my red work shirt! :) Go Target! ):

Sigh… what a life.

4) I LOVE MY DAD! You should too!

(and no, he’s not giving Patrick a cigar in this picture. That was a freak of nature accident… I hope.)

Welp, that’s most of my life. Besides that, I really should go to bed… I have to work closing tomorrow. And Fridays are PAINFUL at Target.  (Translation: I’m probably working until 1am again… hopefully I can afford a triple shot of espresso… or maybe a quadruple shot.)

I love some of you!

I like Target much better, too. I love the products they sell… so many neat little things that Walmart doesn’t have, though Walmart is good if you need cheap, disposable stuff. They have lots of it. I think the first time I really started hating Walmart, though, was when we lived in VA and the Walmart was chaos. There were always huge lines to check out, none of the employees spoke English, and the store was always PACKED. I’m a Target fan too (though I sometimes do go to Walmart in Puyallup for paint and cheap groceries!).

Oh, and by the way, we do want Sammy back!
