Diane’s World

…many enter, few come out the same

“I’m at the top of the world looking down on creation!”

Hey yall.

What a weekend I had.

We went backpacking again - this time 13 miles on the other side of Mt. Rainier. It was so gorgeous that there is absolutely no words to describe it. These pictures hardly do it justice either:

(once again, you can click on the picture to see them bigger and better.)

At summerland, there was a cabin. And in the cabin was this:

(it says “bear journal”) We actually almost ran into three bears - they were 20 feet on the path in front of us. It was a mother and two cubs. We just stopped and let them pass, and we survived. Yes, we are now bear survivors. We “bearly” survived. Haha, that was a bad joke.

Ok, this chipmunk was the cutest little guy in the whole world. he’s not afraid of humans. I named him “fish”.

And this guy even crawled into Andrew and Dad’s lap. I named him “shark” cause he’s bigger than fish. But he was cute too.

Yes… and we hit SNOW!

We got to do a bit of snow hiking. It’s rather interesting especially while wearing slippery tennis shoes. :)

And, of course, the traditional top-of-the-mountain cigar!

And my pa and me together.

Back down to summerland, the summit of the mountain, and me running into Andrew’s pictures because he’s not allowed to take better pictures than me :).

Welp, we are back and alive. I’m not nearly as sore as I was last time, thank goodness.

And yesterday my “relative” from Germany flew in. Actually I have no clue how he’s related to us, but he has the same last name and he is really nice. We’ve stayed at his house in Krefeld, Germany twice already so it’s nice to have him in the US. He brought me one of my three favorite things in the whole world - HARIBO GUMMI BAREN!!! (gummy bears, go figure). (I’ll get pictures of him later, so hold your horses).
So for the special occasion of meeting his German relative, Patrick donned on some Lederhosen. Oh man, if he was any cuter I think he would burst.

This morning I was going to wake Patrick up, but when I walked in his room it was too adorable to disturb:

I think it’s funny how his big bear and his duck dog are doing the exact same position.

And finally… SAMUEL!!!

Man I have cute nephews.

SO that’s all for now. Probably one more post will come before I go back to dordt in THREE DAYS! AHHH!

Love y’all!

Diane

Oh SURE, you just HAD to tell someone who considers himself to be in rehab from uber hits addiction (UHA) that you have SECRETS for more hits. What a PAL. (Just kidding) I actually am very interested. In closing, I will take this moment to shamelessly push my blog in everyone’s face, which is not at all a cool thing to do. SNSCHBT.BLOGSPOT.COM IS AMAAAAAaAZING!!!!!!!!!!!11`

AAH! You’re going to be at Dordt…tomorrow! Crazy crazy. Hey question for you, is there anything special I need to or said I would bring? I can’t think of anything.

Oh and did we decide on anything with meals and such? I was thinking it might be easier if we just fend for ourselves, maybe do a meal together like once a week? I don’t know…I know I don’t eat much/need a big dinner every night. I’m good with just a sandwich or oatmeal. I was just thinking about that. And it’s not just because I don’t cook :) I don’t eat much either haha. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Hope you have a safe trip back and I can’t wait to see you!

Thank you much for said advice. You should write a book about it. Because then you would get more hits… somehow. It certainly sounds like something that would be the case.
