Diane’s World

…many enter, few come out the same

“When people run in circles it’s a very, very mad world…”

I bring the sad and tearful news that my dear and somewhat faithful laptop, Pooky, came to a very awful and idreadful end last Friday.

Pooky
R.I.P. dearest Pooky.

My mommy, who loves me, has decided to give her iMac G5 to me to console my grief and spur on my graphic design career. In all reality it is better for me to have a desktop anyways.

new comp

Only one problem remains; the new computer doesn’t have a name. I’ve been trying to name it all day today but it’s not working. I’ve thought of everything from Romeo, to Digit, to Ziggy. Maybe Jo-jo! I like them all! Any ideas?

Anyways, with my recent obsessions with explodingdog.com, the color red, and the recent realization that there is no one that understands me including myself,  I’ve made this the new desktop:

new desktop

I’m enjoying the large screen, the fact that this computer is about 20 billion times faster than my laptop, and the most wonderful iSight watching my every move.

Thanks Ma and Pa.

Not much else to report. This cold has been lingering for about 2 weeks now. Boo. I go back to Dordt in 17 Days. Woot!

See you around people.

    Name it Fritz. Reasons…
    1) A reminder that Pooky went on the Fritz.
    2) Fritz Weiser was a great great uncle of yours who was a real looney tune. He lived until his death with his sister Sophie. They had a farm in Utah that never had running water even well into the 1980’s, and you had to use the outhouse outside or a bucket under the bed to relieve yourself. They fought like cats and dogs. It’s Fritz’ same genes that has made you a little crazy.
    3) You can use the diminuitive Fritzchen to talk affectionately to your computer. Make sure you trill the “r”.

That’s very sad to hear. How did Pooky die?

I like the name Fritz. It’s a good solid name.

I don’t actually know any of the names of the techno I’ve been listening to. Some stuff that Ben L. found and we listened to it with Charissa on our drive down to Oregon. :)
