“Bah bah! This is the sound of settling!”
I had that song stuck in my head all day today. Good stuff.
I got a fish. His name is Cow. This is Cow:
Cow is my best friend.
He is a siamese fighting fish that lives in a water pitcher in Sarah’s kitchen.
Everytime I walk past his bowl, I barely expect him to still be living.
Enough about Cow.
Patrick is my next best friend. He’s a funny boy with vocabulary of “no”, “nana”, “ball”, and “uh-oh”. We have many intellegent conversations.
I have taught him how to give high-fives yesterday.
Ok. It’s official: I have the cutest nephew in the world.
Well. I strongly advise you to look at my sister’s family’s blog site (see the link on the right). It has all the pictures of her new house so that is kind of fun.
I went to a wedding today. I hate going to weddings.
I planned mine out: it will be a barn in a hick town, and everybody will be wearing overalls and carrying pitchforks, and the reception will be a barn dance.
Ok, fine - I’m joking.
I don’t belong here anymore.
I don’t belong anywhere anymore.
I decided that “the home is where the stuff is.”
I’m done with my articles - all I have left to do is half of my research paper. I have a week left -hooray!
So.
I’m out of things to say
This is my last month of being a teenager! 24 days left. There shall be much rejoicing!
Ok. Only 48 days left until I am at Dordt again!

“This life’s too good to last… and I’m too old to dream”
Well. Where to begin. OH! Let’s do Diane’s trademark mini-posts!!! Everybody loves my mini-posts!!! (Actually I made that up, but hey - maybe it’s true…)
1. There is a sheep in Nova Scotia named after me. I’m not even kidding. Thanks to my WJI friend, Adam. When was the last time any of you have named a beloved animal after me, huh? That only goes to see what true friends you are.
2. I’m now living in my parent’s house until I finish WJI homework. 1.5 articles and 2,000 words to go… urg.
3. Sarah moves into her new house tomorrow. Woot! Rumor has it there is a room for me in it… I sure hope so.
4. I got to spray paint today. Two barstools - black. Going to become a gangster any day now.
5. Out of pathetic boredom, I ended up cleaning out my itunes, going from 7,000 songs to 3,255. I know I’ll regret some of it later, but I kept only songs that actually mean something to me. You can applaud if you want.
6. Ah. I love Muse (a band). I’ve yet to meet someone who shares this deep feeling about it. They have yet to write something that I don’t like.
7. And I bring to you another product of boredomness:
WHERE I HAVE BEEN:
create your own visited states map or check out these Google Hacks.
And the funny thing is I don’t remember half of the states… (the ones in red I’ve been to)
And looking at this map, I’m wondering how in the world our PLIA driver managed to go through oklahoma while on a trip from Iowa to Mississippi… some people never fail to amaze me. Huh.
Ok… Diane… must… do … homework. Must…do..homework.
Love you all! (Actually that might be a lie as well. I definitely don’t love any creepy stalker people…)
Diane

Yup, the title of this post is yet another excellent quote by the distinguished Mr. Benjamin Gibbard. Ah.
It’s a sad world when PBS kids plays both The White Stripes and Modest Mouse as background music. Silly TV station, Indie music isn’t for kids!
Well I wish life were more exciting. I’m not complaining, I just feel sorry for people who come to this website expecting me to be fun and exciting ALL the time. Well guess what, you’re gonna have to wait.
I did read some really good books today. “Art and the Bible” by Francis Schaeffer, and I started “Modern Art and the Death of a Culture” by H.R. Rookmaker. Yes, I’m preparing for my huge paper, and my dad gave me these two books. Thanks, Dad!
If anything awesome happened this summer, I’m collecting quite the collection of books. I already have around 25 really fine books… I know, I’m thinking about starting a library any time now. Best part? I didn’t pay for a single one of them… thanks World Journalism Institute!
Thinking of getting a job about now… hmmm.
Ok, sorry about this being boring. Fine, I guess I’ll add some pictures. That always makes people happier.
But if you stalked my sister Sarah’s website already, I’m sorry, you’ve probably seen most of these. Well you can’t have everything.
This is Patrick and Sarah dancing - - - sideways! It’s their new gravity-defying act. And Patrick even does it in his mom’s shoes. What a genius child, I know.
Patrick, while defying gravity and half naked, sticks all kinds of stickers on himself. He’s so awesome.
This is patrick feeding me broccoli that has already been in his mouth and on the floor. I have recently gained the title “Rat Master” - where I get to change lots of diapers and babysit him.
Ok. I’m done. Have a good week, ya’ll.

What a week.
Still at Sarah’s apartment. Andrew is away for a business trip so I get to help her mess up…erg… I mean keep up the house.
Pretty much every day is the same. I wake up to my nephew giggling or my sister poking my nose (which, by the way, is the world’s most inefficient way to wake me up. It seems as though I have no sensory nerves there. Oh well).
Eat breakfast, go work out and get buff for two hours, start working on my paper and end up messing around with my nephew or the internet, have dinner, watch a movie, go to bed. I know, what a life.
Anyways, I almost have 3 of my 4 articles written, and I don’t even know where to start with the big 3000 word paper. I have a huge stack of books that are constantly staring at me. Frightening. At least my topic is Art, and art books tend to be over 75% pictures. I can deal with that.
Welp, things have been quite interesting. I got to find out what a diaper looks like when a toddler eats WAY too much watermelon for his own good and doesn’t poop for two days (believe me folks, it ain’t pretty), and Sarah forced me (ok, I volunteered) to watch Ring2 with her.
I don’t know how many of you have seen a scary movie with me, but I have this huge ritual of piling up all the blankets and pillows I can find so I can only see about 5% of the screen - the top right corner. When it gets too scary, I hide the whole tv from sight and watch my pillows instead.
Even after all that, I am scared to death of the tv, bathroom, and little kids after that movie. (watch the movie and you’ll understand).
I hate scary movies. Bleh.
Anways, I hope to have most of my homework done in the next week. I’ve had a car for the past few days (the car I learned to drive on! A 1998 Toyota Corolla - my baby!) that Andrew now owns. And since he’s in Boston, I’ve reclaimed it for a few days (muwahahahaha).
I’m going to a bon-fire tomorrow with my high-school class. It should be exciting.
Anyways, that’s me. I’m glad to hear that people are finding this site.
BTW to answer some popular questions - no, I didn’t draw the stick figures at the top myself, I had some help from explodingdog.com. I seem to be the only person that understands that website.
Oh well, life goes on.
Have a good week!
Diane
2 commentsHouston, we have contact…
Welcome to my world!
This is my first post ever on this website (the previous one is all Andrew).
I finally announced the opening of this website, so we should start having some traffic around here soon.
Well update on life: I’ve been pretending to do homework, working out (need to get buff!), watching my nephew and helping out with my preggie sister, Sarah.
Yup the same as usual. Well, feel free to poke around this site, make sure you bookmark it and at least check up once a month to see what’s new.
Till then, have a good week, y’all!
